Hey everybody, we’re baaaaack! Did you miss us? You’ll see no thanks to President Trump here, but just like TikTok, we are emerging from a short slumber and back in your feed! The new Bad Bunny album has us grooving, and the return of TikTok is giving major carpe diem energy. We’re just happy to be here, back to writing these updates, and back to some semblance of a normal routine despite all of the madness unfolding around us.
And oh, what a month it has been! In the time since our last post, we….
Flew from Nosara to New York, where we spent 2 days seeing friends and family and immediately picking up colds
Drove down to DC where we spent 10 days seeing friends and family, helping to pack up Jesse’s parents’ home as they moved out of the house Jesse grew up in
Cosplayed as our friends, The Komans, for a few days housesitting while they were out of town (and got to take care of two adorable pit bulls)
Drove up to the Berkshires to freeze our sensitive playa feet off (and spend time with Sam’s parents)
Drove back down to NYC for some fun hangs with friends, a chill New Year’s Eve, and Wes’s first soup dumplings
Drove back down I-95 to Philly for a day trip to take Wes to Disney on Ice for his birthday
And, finally, flew out to JFK to fly back to Nosara—with a quick stopover at the TWA Hotel, which was a super cool experience and we’d highly recommend to anyone with a morning Jet Blue flight out of JFK!
Then, Wes turned 3 at an altitude of 30,000 feet somewhere over the Gulf of Mexico
After a long day of travel, we were back in Nosara, a little worse for wear, but super fulfilled from seeing so many loved ones
And then it was right back to it—unpacking our house to move back in, getting Wes back into the school routine, and preparing for….
Wes’s big 3rd Birthday Party!! We had all of Wes’s classmates and families over for a pool party and barbeque at our house here. The birthday boy thoroughly enjoyed himself, so much so that he passed out on the couch at 5pm before eating dinner and slept through the night, a first for Wes!
Speaking of sleep, every bullet point above should have “…without getting a full night’s sleep” added to the end of it. Wes has been in a wild sleep regression, which means none of us have been sleeping much. So, if we’ve spaced out on something or left you on “read” recently, we’re sorry and we’re working on getting Wes’s sleep back in order so that we can get our lives in order too. Ah, to be a toddler parent! :)
And as if all the above, wasn’t enough, Wes’s brand new teacher, Ms. Yareli, got into a bike accident last weekend after just 5 (amazing) days with the class and had to go back to her hometown in Mexico to recover from her injuries. So Wes is in the midst of yet another teacher change at his school. But, in true Nosara fashion, there’s already a great replacement who has stepped in and will likely keep the seat warm for the next several weeks while Ms. Yareli recovers. Never.A.Dull.Moment!
And, with all that, we are just so happy to be back here. We spent this weekend soaking up the beach and pool hangs with friends, and exploring more of Nosara.
Today’s highlight was definitely swimming and snorkeling around the tide pools at Little Pavones with Wes and Buddha (some pics below), and then eating incredible fresh ceviche by the beach in Garza for lunch.
This place keeps us on our toes, but damn is it worth it!
Oh, and lastly, if you’re anything like us, you cannot stop listening to Bad Bunny’s new album DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS (and, in Sam’s case at least, looking up both the lyrics and the English translations). We like to imagine that everyone reading this will be listening to BAILE INoLVIDABLE or DtMF in the background.
Debí tirar más fotos de cuando te tuve
Debí darte más beso' y abrazo' las vece' que pude-Bad Bunny “DtMF”
So, in the spirit of Bad Bunny, here are too many photos!
The Highlights:

Move over, Santa, Disney on Ice is the new top memory for Wes!
